Our dedicated volunteers at Horsepower Hills took a significant step towards continuing to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients and community by completing comprehensive first aid training. This vital training was made possible thanks to a generous $500 quick grant from the Shire of Mundaring, for which we are deeply grateful.

Our volunteers completed several online modules, which laid the foundation for their practical training all day on Saturday 13 July 2024. The hands-on session was conducted by Julia from St John WA, who guided our team through a full day of intensive lifesaving training.

Throughout the day, our volunteers acquired crucial life-saving skills, including CPR and basic emergency life support for adults, children, and infants. They also learned various other first aid techniques, such as responding to sprains, strains, fractures, anaphylaxis, diabetes, and snake bites. Given our location in the hills, our work with horses, our engagement with children with special needs, and our outdoor service delivery, it is essential that we equip our volunteers, therapists, and coaches with the confidence and competence to respond effectively in emergencies.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Shire of Mundaring for their support, and to Julia for her expert instruction. This training not only enhances the safety of our operations but also strengthens our commitment to serving our clients and the community with excellence.

Thank you to all our volunteers, therapists and coaches for their dedication and hard work to complete their first aid training. Your efforts make Horsepower Hills a safer and more supportive environment for everyone.
