HorsePower Hills urgently recruits volunteers to help run Telethon Community Cinemas to raise funds

Updated: Feb 28, 2023

HorsePower Hills is the newest Charity Beneficiary for family outdoor entertainer Telethon Community Cinemas.

HorsePower Hills runs equestrian programs for children and young people in Sawyers Valley and West Swan. The riding centre in West Swan has been a specialist Hipotherapy Centre for over 20 years.

It will provide a big team of volunteers to help run the Telethon Community Cinemas at venues located at Murdoch, Joondalup, Bassendean and Burswood. The Bassendean Cinema opens in December.

However, more volunteers are needed to help run the events. It is urgently recruiting volunteers who enjoy movies and going to the cinema and want to help children by joining the HorsePower Hills Telethon Community Cinema volunteering team.

HorsePower Hills President Rebekah Millard said, “The funds raised by our Telethon Cinema volunteer efforts provide direct benefits to children with health and physical challenges. We transform young lives through our equestrian programs. "

“HorsePower celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2022. Our long-term goal is to build a new riding centre that will service the community for another fifty years. These Telethon funds will help.”

Telethon Community Cinemas has been extraordinarily successful, raising more than $10,000,000 for children’s charities since 2000. Ticket sales for Summer Season 2022-23 will support five Charity Beneficiaries, including HorsePower Hills.

If you would like to volunteer for the Telethon Community Cinemas, please register here.

Reasons to get involved!

  1. HorsePower helps young people to increase their independence, to achieve their personal goals, to believe in themselves, and to be part of a team and a community. Support the Cinemas that support us, and make the community a better place, one movie at a time!

  2. You will also receive a FREE movie ticket for every shift completed and an entry into the major prize draw!

  3. Complete at least 10 shifts, and you will also have the opportunity to vote to direct the financial outcome of your efforts to HorsePower. Each 10 shifts completed gives you another vote.

Thanks to Bingah, mother of Monday rider Aldi, for creating this 30 second video clip to use at nightly screenings at all Telethon Community Cinemas (TCC) venues.

HorsePower Hills is a Charity Beneficiary of TCC and this video will help explain to cinema patrons who we are and what our riding program looks like. Yes, it looks like fun.
